Sigh. There’s the dreaded “optimized for Internet Explorer”. Guess I’ll go to a brick-and-mortar shop.

Are you sure? My friend who always runs linux just ordered 5 copies!

  3. March 1, 2008 at 8:36 pm

Heh – I ordered four copies just now, but the site won’t work with firefox. So I used konqueror, which worked like a charm.

MusicYogi really needs to pull up its socks here – IE specific webpages, in this day and age??? That’s so last century! 🙂

Now what good is this to me?? How am I going to get the album in the US?? 😦

  5. March 1, 2008 at 11:12 pm

Quite sure. This is what I saw when proceeding to payment gateway, using epiphany:

    Microsoft VBScript runtime error ‘800a000d’

    Type mismatch: ‘[string: “”]’

    /asp/processCC.asp, line 31

And that’s it. Which is pretty scary, since real money was going to be involved. 🙂

Looks like my order was placed after all, with konqueror. Thanks Atul.

Arp – Well this is the best we have right now, we are actively looking at options for people abroad and I should have some good news for you soon … very soon!

Sajith – The ends justify the means 😉 .. I’ll point the MusicYogi guys to this error … they really need to move beyond IE!

Just ordered a copy for myself. Samples were great. I hope the CD will have Introduction to Shishunal Sharifa and translation as many people outside Karnataka will not be able to understand what Gudugudiya Sedi Nodo and Soruthihudu Maniya Maligi.
Thanks for great music and I appreciate and thank again for bringing these two songs to national level.

Manjunath’s point is a good one – it would be good the RDP site had a wiki on it that could be updated with information relevant to the music/artists/etc. The more information there is available, the more people will explore the site (and the music).

    Hi Manjunath!

Thanks for the sensible observation…we indeed have all the kannada lyrics translated and meanings explained in the CD jacket. The idea definitely was to reach out the great Saint Poet Shishunala Sharifa’s poetry outside the boundaries of Karnataka. Hope this album will be a start for the world to recognise the amount of treasure hidden in ancient Kannada literature. Also, in about six months, The Raghu Dixit Project will bring out an exclusive anthology album on Saint Shishunala’s poetry and pearls of wisdom!

Someone from MusicYogi is listening… Yup! We do have a problem, and it is a pretty crappy one. I agree IE is a horrible option but more than tweaking our website, we need to change our payment gateway partner (for credit cards). Their script doesn’t work with Firefox – that pretty much puts us in a corner. The easiest solution might be to change the payment gateway service. After changing three payment gateway partners, it isn’t a great option.

Taking a cue from the conversation here, I think MusicYogi will eventually have to go down that road and start hunting for a credible partner.

On a different note, it would be great if you guys can post reviews after listening to the album, and also drop a note if you have something to say about MusicYogi’s services. Those little feedbacks we get go a long way in helping us improve operationally.

  13. March 3, 2008 at 2:17 pm

Yeay! Thanks Adarsh for clarifying .. and people of the world, do post your reviews about the album and their services .. it does help influence people who are looking to buy!

Adarsh – Sadly, I think you guys need to go through the rut to find another payment service provider. How about Paypal / Google Checkout?

  14. March 3, 2008 at 4:07 pm

Thanks! Paypal is active for International customers (and, you don’t have to use IE if you are an International customer). We haven’t opened out Paypal for our Indian customers as they would have to pay for their orders in USD. We felt that the conversion (from INR to USD) might antagonize our Indian customers. [As a test, we did open it out for a few days and as we had imagined, our customers who tried using Paypal were pretty irritated]

And Google Checkout unfortunately is not open available to Indian merchants.

FYI, ‘Raghu Dixit’ is scorching MusicYogi’s charts. In two days it has shot up to number 2, close behind Avial.

  15. March 3, 2008 at 4:09 pm

That number is going to go much higher sir!! peoples … you heard it from the man himself .. the album is going up the charts … lets get it to number 1 and keep it there for a long time eh? 😉
